Washington State Coonhound Assoc. needs help

Post by Libby »

We need help finding areas suitable for UKC Nite Hunts.

Looking like only spots we have are in Oregon, which is getting pretty thin for Mary's Peak (Oregon Club) use anyway.

Hunting spots are tight all around, but if we let another aspect of hounds whither (coonhunting) it's that many fewer for all houndsmen. Nite Hunts are good ways to bring new hound owners into the world of hound hunting. Lord knows we can use as many more houndhunters as we can get.

Even if you don't have UKC dogs, or do coonhunting, if you have a spot we could use, it would be greatly appreciated. We would never go to the spot on our own, and are very clear at the NH that people may not go back to hunt on their own.

For those unfamiliar, no game is taken at Nite Hunts, it's strictly score card. No weapons carried.

I will personally write letters in support for anyone's hound hunting campaigns to lend support back. Heck, I write letters whenever they are requested anyway.

If we don't help one another, how do we expect to maintain or regain any of our rights in Oregon or Washington.

Thanks,
