Neat Video

Postby perk » Mon Jul 17, 2017 6:25 pm

Came across this on another website. It's a short video about Percy Flowers who was one of the most well know foxhunters ever to live. Thought some of you may enjoy it.

Man that was well done.

Some of the best frailing and slide guitar I have heard in awhile.

Thank you.

I noticed they run their dogs with weed whip cord or something like that trailing behind.

Is his breeding called by his name, or something else?

David, his breeding is called Flowers breeding, probably hard much that ain't watered down almost completely.
The weedeater string is for a dog that's tough to catch. Gives you and extra 25 ft to catch him

Weedeater string? I've got one that could use about thirty feet. I'm the only person that can lay a hand on her and sometimes it's hard for me until she does about twenty miles. She will come and jump in the truck, but only when she is done.

Haha Andyva, I've had a quite a few of those. Didn't have to worry about anybody stealing them though.
I hunted most my life with hounds I couldn't catch until they were ready to be caught. Sometimes that was several days. But I won't tolerate a dog anymore that I can't handle.
Good video, I have ran with some tough Flower's bred hounds and owned a couple back in the 70s-80s.

That sure is a neat video. I really enjoy listening to stories about those old-timers.

This was an interesting find and much to my surprise here's another family name (Flowers) connection in NC to (fox?) hounds (amongst other things :D ) that I have discovered.
