did it smell just a bit skunky and have eyes the size of ping pong balls? we have them all over some areas here they love rock piles with trees nearby. I've seen them about every where but some areas it's like they are popping out from under every rock. it is a pretty good way to get a pup snake bit letting them get after them. the odd thing is I've never had any issue breaking dogs off them. I don't know, you'd think one would develop a ringtail fetish.

One of the dogs I have now has treed two of them on different occasions out coon hunting.

I've also seen two by my house coming home from work late in the evening, and one run across the road out bear hunting. Never got after any in the mountians hunting though. But that dog of mine likes to trash on fox more than anything, so I'm sure it just comes down to the fact there aren't as many Ringtails as there are Fox.

I've trapped a few along the Consumnes River. Trippy animals, look like they belong in Australia. -Pete

I caught two on South Myrtle Creek in tn 80'. I know of several caught on the Rouge above Gold beach. I have seen two at different times on Canton Creek and know of one caught on Sharps Creek out of Cottage Grove. They are rare in Oregon but maybe there are more than we thing. Dewey

I talked to my grandpa about them. He said that years ago, (that could be a long time he's 93). A guy would see them fairly often but not for a long time now. I saw one once it ran across the road @ the baker cr corner. I agree with dewey there are probably pockets of these critters scattered around. Cascadecathunter have you kept in contact with any of the power's boy's? J.W.
