question about breeding
i have a 50lb catahola female and a 65lb bluetick male i want breed together both real good bear dogs .just wondering if the size difference will matter.and if any body has heard of that cross befor. any info would be helpful thanks.

nope that is not a huge difference. Fetal giantism is not very common in dogs and especially in crossing a hound with a cur I see no issue.

Shouldn't be any problem at all. Hell a good friend of mine had a Mc Nabe breed his Jack Russell bitch. She had them just fine.
If they're true to their breeds I'd think this cross wouldn't lack a bit in the gritt department.

put them together and she was going for it but after he tryed three or four times with out getting it in she didnt want any more . i guess ill try again to marrow . any suggestions will be helpful. thanks

What am I missing here? There's not much differance between a 50 and 65# dog. I mean where not talking a jack (f) and mastif (m) cross. So go for it if they complement each other and you want to try the cross. If it works do it again if not don't.

She might not be ready yet. Just kennel them together for a couple of days once she is ready and that should take care of your problem. If you have been keeping track of the days since she came into heat, its usually after the 12th day that she is fertile and that will last untill the 21st day. Of course all dogs are different but that is my female's cycle.
