8X8 Argo Response with tracks

Post by Dale T »

I've seen a few of the comparisons of the other tracked ATV's and side by sides but has anybody run the Argo enough to give some input.

I dont own one Dale but have hunted in my buddys many many times. I can tell you we have spent more time stuck in that thing then going. Have had it in the water, mud, dry and snow and it just gets stuck all over. It did good running it in water but thats about it. I was really thinking about getting one before he did and Im glad I didnt most of the time now I bring my quad and hunt on it just to help pull it out. Its not to bad in the snow but really my quad does just as good as it does and the quad dont get stuck on every log and big rock. I would much rather run a side by side or quad with track then waist the money on an argo.

Dale, I had one for many years. I use to own a couple duck clubs and it was great for them. Water, marsh, Cant be beat!! Tried many times taking it up to the woods and it was just about as Chris said. Stuck all the time. You would be way better off with a quad with tracks. Pretty much unstopable.

They work pretty good out here in Wyoming/Colorado. Speed on the new Argo HDI with tracks is around 20 which is too fast if your roading the dogs or checking tracks - need to be running slow.
If the dogs cross a canyon and you need to travel a few miles in a hurry then this isn't the machine you want but if hauling 6 dogs and 1-3 adults is needed then an Argo is perfect. I can go from snow to hardpack and across beaver ponds or rivers. Can;t always do that with a tracked 4wheeler.Image
