I have never hunted them but I believe either way will work. I bought a tag year before last but never had the time to hunt them. I will be hunting them this year.houndnem wrote:how do you go about huntin them? can you call them like coyote? or do you glass and blast?

Re: EVERYONE READ THIS!!! Take a stand on the wolf problem!!
I know for a fact that a Bugeling Bulls elk call and a Hoochie Mama cow call will call them in, year before last during archery elk season I had a bull answering my calls when a pack of wolves came in and fired up by me. Its a pretty eery feeling when you are surrounded by them and they are all fireing up, but you cant see them and all you have is a bow.

Try Primos howling coyote calls.... I hear they work well.

ferjr,
Thanks for the thread. I have been fighting this disaster called "grey" wolf re-introduction for more than 10 yrs now. I see you are in Idaho, and I am from Central Or. I am wondering if you have been a resident in this area long enough to have seen resident wolves in our region before 1995? We did have occasional wolf sightings, markings prior to the Gov. Project release of CL Occidentalis. I believe, as do many others, that we had resident, rarely seen native wolves in our region PRIOR to the Gov. attempt at playing eco-gods and bringing in CLO from northern Can. and Ak. along with the spread of E.G. commonly known as hydatid cyst disease. I see this as eco terrorism. I believe every individual involved in this "re-introduction" program should face criminal charges as terrorists to the health and common wealth of our lands, public and private....(IMHO)
I hear Id. has set season information and hope to be able to purchase a tag for wolf this fall. $186 is quite steep since you have such a problem in most areas, however, IF&(no)G have to cover their salary somehow.

Been looking at this & several other problems about how to fight these people.
1.we have to stand together as " taxpayers" as a taxpayer I don't want to pay
for wolf damages not one penny should come out of "my pocket" [taxes].
2.Have all these people & their org's. put up 10-15 million$ to cover expenses.
a.damages to all domestic animals,[cattle,horses,dogs,lamas,etc].
b.Money to cover biologist.
3.any court hearing's they put up signifacant amount of cash same as gov't.
1ml. each, loser pays expenses.
We have to turn the tables on them, just some thought.
GOOD LUCK
John
