Lots of training when they are young. I keep my pups with me 24/7 for the first 6-8 months when I get them. They go everywhere with me all day. They learn everything they will ever need in that time. My dogs only wear an e-collar about 2-3 times in thier lives to train them off of deer and elk when they are just under a year old. I don't run e-collars at all when I'm hunting.
