question about different styles?

I'm new to all this. I coon hunted with walkers for 10 years. I am trying to get into lion and bobcat hunting here in colorado and am looking at redbones or black & tans. When I read posts from more expirienced houndsmen they talk about different breeds have different hunting styles, and debate on hunting one style by itself. Or using two different styles to compliment each other. Like walkers and black & tans together. Could someone shed a little light on these differences?
