I think we should all write Bill O'Rielly and ask him if he understands what HSUS is really all about.

Thanks for all you have done and contacting Senator Evans she is a key Senator, as far as getting a reporter to look into these lieing bastards HSUS, Bill O'Rielly is on there list of contributers, unbelievable, I did E-mail him and asked "what the hell" I'll post when I get a response.

Re: BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA
Are there any attorneys among us??? I would think that because the state of Ca. is trying to do this and if the bill is passed that they would be open to class action law suits do to the depredation that will occur to domestic livestock as well as pets. Hell the state can't afford to run now.
I also think we need to let the general public know that if a gun happy warden or sherrif thinks their pet is messing with a bear or bobcat when going on a walk, their dog will be shot. The general public needs to know the truth about the hsus as well as the stupid ass dem senators trying to push this thru.
WE NEED TO GET ORGANIZED AND KICK THEIR ASSES...................................

This example needs to be used against Ms. Pacele. Wildlife management should not be left to an ignorant lobbist working in a concrete jungle, nor to the city slicker that only has seen a bear in a zoo.

Re: BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA
Today is truly a sad day for California hunters.
After being railroaded through the Natural Resources Committee and Appropriations Committee, the California Legislature passed SB1221, banning the hunting of hounds on bear and bobcat.
What's worse, the law gives CA DFG the authority to shoot hounds that they feel are chasing bears or bobcat, which means that hounds chasing other species, like rabbit, racoon, wild pig, etc. are at risk. And interestingly (but not surprising), the law gives an exemption to govt., whose hunters will still be allowed to hunt bear and bobcat with hounds, in order to manage the overall population and problem animals. There goes their "ineffective" and "inhumane" arguments. What hypocrites!
And how's this for ya. We're $16 Billion in the red, but the State of CA would rather spend more money to expand wildlife management "services" (a euphemism for bureaucracy), rather than generating revenue directly through the buying of tags/licenses/etc. They justify it by saying they need to protect us from ourselves and our outdated lifestyle, but all they have done is taken another right away from us by applying a govt. sanctioned set of values through the rule of law. Of course, they'll just raise taxes to cover the financial loss. No one will be the wiser after a few years.
Sorry to say, we have lost a key battle in protecting our hunting rights in general. The sponsors of this bill will not stop until all hunting is banned in California, then the rest of the United States. This is a quote. It is THEIR WORDS.
The question is...who's next on their list?

Re: BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA
SB 1221 still has a long way to go.
As most of you know, the next step will be a vote in the Assembly Committee of Water, Parks and Wildlife. I called the committee office today and was told the next hearing will likely be on June 12th
Among many things we need to do, we need to find official non-biased research that can be submitted professionally to every member of this committe. People need to drive to Sacramento and professionally speak with the legislative analysts regarding SB 1221 for each Assemblyman on this committee. Phone calls are great but they don't do as much as driving there and speaking to the officials. I am working two jobs and drove nearly 600 miles to get there. You guys can too, and thank you all for what you have already done.
It would be a big help if anyone could provide non-biased research or data which shows anything like what percentage deer make of the diets of black bears and bobcats. We need to find CA DFG statuses of different deer herds in California and show how this will negatively effect those herds.
I am trying to prepare testimony to give at this upcoming hearing which will expose that when the hound hunting of mountain lions was taken away, attacks went up on people by cougars by 600% in 35 years. We need to continue with these undeniable presentations and we can be successful in defeating this.
This is no where near over with.

Re: BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA
MidnightRun I appreciate you efforts and positive attitude. Some things to consider as we move forward.
Railroaded in the Committee for Natural Resources...
Railroaded in the Appropriations Committee...
Railroaded on the Senate floor...
Now off to the Assembly. I can only assume party line politics will play out the same. I hope we have a more effective game plan. Clearly showing up in large numbers and the outpouring of support didn't mean squat to them. It was clear they had made a decision BEFORE they even heard the arguments.
How about we publicize the consequences of shutting down predator hunting, and call out the hypocritical nature of the Bill (permitting dogs to be shot, and allowing an exemption for hound hunting by the govt.)?
I will fight this to the end and am willing to travel to protect our rights, but I don't see a different outcome unless we have some hard facts that can expose, to the public at large, our elected politicians and HSUS as hypocrites, and convince the general public that this Bill is a costly and wasteful folly engineered by the extreme left, at a time when our govt. should be laser focused solving the State's severe financial crisis.
Politicians don't like negative exposure. Let's give them some. People make decisions based on their gut. Let's brand the supporters of SB1221 as:
1. aligning with extremists
2. financially irresponsible
3. catering to special interests
4. bullies: infringing on the rights of a smaller group within our society
5. against rural america, tradition and family values
6. elitist
...I could go on.
We don't need lawyers. We need a PR firm...just like HSUS has.
