Last night got a call from my cousin wanting me to take him out hunting we had about 3 inches of fresh snow and the weather cleared up early that afternoon so we loaded up the dogs and headed out the snow was nice and we were the only tire tracks on the mountain and just before 9 I noticed tracks come down the bank up ahead and go a ways down the road so we pulled up and there was a nice bobcat track in the snow so I pulled out my chase dog and my Bluetick Waylon and stuck them down and they hit the track worked it down the road about 60 yards then off the bank and cold trailed it through the draw and up over the ridge out of hearing so we drive around trying to get close enough to hear them about an hour later we see we're they crossed the road we find 4sets of tracks a jack rabbit track bobcat and 2dog tracks and not long after that we hear the dogs start screaming it above us around a ridge and just far enuff that we cant hardly here them and the Garmin shows treed so we get up high enough we can here them and still treeing hard so after a pretty steep hike we ended up with a nice tom treed just shy of 30 pounds with a big pot belly have a few decent picture if I can figure out how to post them. Happy hunting

Re: good night cat hunting
Good job Brandon, take good care of chase. Chase was sired by my Skinner hound and his dam was a registered treeing walker that was a grandaughter of sackett jr. Recall she also had minklers kansas dancer in her three generation pedigree. Those grey fox should be good for chase. One would think with that lineage chase would have been a stout tree hound, but was a better track dog than a tree dog. Go figure! But I did talk to the person who trained the sire of chase/s dam and he assured me her sire was a grand nite champion, but was a better track dog than tree hound.. Chase/s dam was a very hard all day tree hound that started very young catching her own game. She was also a good rig hound. Just a little information for you and anyone else who is interested. Al

Thanks unreal tk I managed to get 2pictures up of my cousin holding the cat and thanks al for some of the back ground on chase he's got a permanent home here I couldn't ask for anything more out of a hound his age he does get sore at times after a hard hunt but I got him stuff for joint care to try to help him stay in the best condition he can and not be sore I will have to post some good pictures of chase at the tree he has been treeing hard on every tree and last week when we got to the tree he was still treeing hard hours after they had treed you sure made a nice hound out of chase he hunts hard real consistent and great to handle
