My first bears of 2008

Post by TomJr »

These two are not out of thier den but are stiring.

My new pup jake found this den Tuesday morning. Funny thing is we have been going past this area all winter. On our way home Jake stopped and started sniffing the air and giving strange little barks. So I said "Get em!" and off he went. The den was only 200yards off a well traveled trail.

Cool pix. Was the sow getting ornery or was she just content?

As far as I could see there is only one cub in there. Moma bear was popping her jaws abit before I called the dogs back. Once I got the dogs back she settled right down so I took a few pictures but I didn't spend to much time bothering her. As I didn't want to force her to leave the den early.
