my worst injury was a twisted ankle and bruises I got when I stepped in a rock crevice while hiking up a canyon.

I posted this topic because most of us love hunting even with the risks of loosing extremeties, breaking bones, and many other painfull experiences.

had a friend that lost all his toes to frostbite after falling through a beaver bog when i was younger cat hunting i had both feet crushed and was in a wheel chair for six months from a riding on the front of a skidder an the guy lifted the blade and crushed them both clear back to my ankles. they said i was probably going to lose them both and the first thing that went through my mind before they took me in to the operating room was my hounds at the time still got my feet and my hounds :D :D

Sure, I'll show you my scars......

Besides the usual bumps, bruises, scaps, and sprains, a couple memorable ones was a deer antler up under my knee cap from dragging out a deer. Frost bit scars on both ears from trying to catch bobcats when it's -30. A concussion from a snowmobile accident while lion hunting that left me in La La land for a couple of days. But most painful, a caved in rib cage from a buddy's snowmobile ski.

Another time I was trying too side some hill that was too steep and my EEE shoe too big to hold me and I was stuck and it was a good 120 ft down if I fell and nothing but rocks below. Twice I allmost putmy foot down into an open mouthed boar pigs grasp and was in moon light an no light on trying too get down terriced bank steps too a dry creek bed were my dogs was treed up/ turned out the wasent and the pig each time was under a ledge and they appeared too be treed on a big tree but was lower and looken up at the pig each time/2 different times not same hunt.

Tore cartilege in my knee while going down one of the steepest draws in the Bighorns in 2005. I continued to hunt on it with a knee brace until the season ended 3 weeks later. Was useless for 3 months after that. In 2006 I pulled my hip out in 2006 breaking through thigh deep snow. That is what did me in and made me hang up my leashes. Knee and hip are okay now if I do not push it, but there is no way I can ever do what I did all those years I was hunting 3 to 4 times a week year round in the mountains. Now it is just summertime light hikes.

So far worst has been sore muscles and feet along with the typical cuts and bruises...but I haven't been hunting that long!
