plotts for bobcats

Post by bluedogs »

I've been doing a bunch of Research on plott lines and am looking for a line of plotts that have a cold nose and by cold nose I don't mean a cold nose bear dog to me that's not cold nosed I'm looking for a cold nosed in the bobcat world a dog that can rig a bobcat off the truck on bare ground. I have read good things about blackwater plotts and star mnt plotts, I have mainly hunted bluetick for the past 8 years but am kinda wanting to get into plotts I like a dog that doesn't bark every breath that is semi silent I have a ursus pup right now I am working with she is alot of bark but she is a go getter. Not sure if I will ever breed her as she does bark to much on track for me. Not sure if there are any plott hunters on the west coast. I now plotts are bred for mainly bear and hog but surely someone has bred for cold nosed cat dog plotts out there
cant never could

2nd star mountain for cold nose, ran 6 ursus dogs, all very open mouthed dogs, and med nose, dont think they would have been good for cat. bear or coon only.

The star digs do have a good nose, there was a litter due end if march in Wisconsin. Also the pocohanats dogs are pretty nosey as well I know a man in Wyoming who catches cats on dirt with his. If your interested pm me and I can give you there info. The biggest thing for bobcats is that's what they need started an left on till they get it down to be good.
