WARNING Green River Kennel - Hershal Joyner
Re: WARNING Green River Kennel - Hershal Joyner
There's a lot of valid reasons for having dogs shipped. There's still more hounds sold to local buyers by number. But when you can't find or get what you want or need locally that doesn't leave a lot of choice. Some guys say they prefer to sell dogs to different areas. I'd rather sell one locally so if something does go wrong its easier to check and fix the problem if required. I do realize dogs have to travel sometimes though. But honestly how many guys have ever had a deal go completely sideways with local buyers? I mean its much easier to fix if there is something. It does open your eyes and the buyers if your able to load the parents up and go hunt with them and the pup. Or whatever dog was sold. It would be nice if this could happen on every dog sold but its not realistic.

I have never had dealings with Mr. Joyner, however years ago I hunted with some hounds that came from him, so I was told. That breeding produced some good bobcat dogs in this area, some of the best cat hunters in southern Oregon are still breeding ancestors from those hounds. Later years did hear some negative stories. That's why I only buy pups not dogs from far away but I do a lot of research before I make my decision .
