Bobcat hunting- mike kemp dogs

Postby Katmandoo » Thu Jul 28, 2016 6:11 pm

Hello im new to this... I say new to this because i have been running bobcats for 8 years. I've been using a dog from Maine from pretty good stock a running Walker from a well known guy. I just got a mike kemp dog last year and couldnt believe the difference. That kemp dog runs harder and faster then anything Ive ever seen. Was wondering if anyone else is having this much luck with Mike Kemps dogs.

Hey just an update. Got another pup from Mike Kemp and 2 of my friends got one too. It has been an unbelievable year. A pack of those dogs are deadly and its better then i ever could of imagined. Only killed 2 that was by choice. Left several to run another day. There is also no such thing as a bay up on the ground or else... Thanks again Mike my chases are better then i ever could've thought. I cant even imagine what its gonna be like in a couple years. The oldest is 2 the other aren't even 1 yet.

Where abouts are you at in PA? I'm just across the border of ny/pa around the Corning area... Two of my buddy's have pups booked from Mike and should be here around July , sounds like they should also be pleased with his dogs

I dont run during the summer, but it will start cooling down in the next month and i will be getting after it shortly. I work a lot thru spring and summer. I also have a 3 and 2 year old thats why i stick to fall and winter. My friend just got a finished dog and the 2 night he had it they had a good chase fox ended up in a whole but i know hes extremely happy.

We just started rigging this year. My friends finished dog he got from Mike is a rigging rockstar. My dogs by themselves rigged about a dozen coon of the box this year so its a start. We had about half dozen fox races off the rig but had that finished dog around then. We hunt in snow a lot this time of year now. My 2 treed a cat last week by themselves. What a great race it was cold trailing they logged in 14 miles on garmin and jumped race was twenty minutes it was a great race then treed in a big pine. Had 6 races last week 4 cats and 2 grays everything made it too holes but the cat. I think that was decent i was always told they don’t go in unless pressured. Just started hitting it hard. Races are sounding good and dogs are in shape. My female i got almost died on me Lymes hit her hard after one week of antibiotics she right back to her old self maybe even a little better then I’ve seen her in awhile. Happened like a flip up a switch very scary.
