My box is not yet finished. It took me forever to get the doors welded by my father-in-law. I now have everything together with the exception of the door latches and then tear down to prime and paint everything. I have lined the interior with a hard plastic about 1/8 thick. 1 1/2 foam insulation and all covered by 1/4 plywood designed for outdoor use. I then have 2 doors with bars in the bed with covers. 1 door each side with head holes and covers. I am still trying to figure out how to cover the edges of the hole as to now allow the dogs to cut their fool necks. I then have covered every outside edge with angle 1/8 hard plastic to help protect and seal the edges from peeling and water. KC light on the top foward corner of each side to light the night. All wires are run within the insulation with a plug in the drivers side corner. The corresponding plug is in the corner of the bed with the remainder of the wires under the carpet in the cab. I am very happy so far with the way it has turned out but not with how long it has taken or how much it has cost. If I loose another hound over night I will have a real hard time leaving my box on the side of the road. May need to have a pet porter in the crew cab as a precautionary messure. I will be sure to post some pics as soon as it is finished and not in the garage where a tornado dropped a big mess!!

about all the coyote hunters around here use some version of that style box-

-- build it as light as possible-

and make it so it ataches to top of bedrail with pins-- -or ratchet straps--

you can take it off and strap it onto a folding sled---

folding sled will fit beside a snowmobile in a full size truck --or on top of dog box in a small truck

i had one once that had permanent skis and hitch--one thing i would have done different was to build so i could carry it upside down on truck---

so the hitch folds down--- used to use a bungee cord to hold the hitch up- --didnt always work lol
when the tailgate drops
