i have a treated pine floor going on 3 yrs and it is going to be torn apart and moved to me new house. make sure you put plenty of gap between the boards

so far I love it.easy clean up and best of all no smell.Holding up fine.Have a buddy that has one thats been up several years,its holding up fine

12 x 12 concrete slab, 3x6 attached bunk, lined with cedar chips, 6' pressure treated walls. Im still planning on putting a roof on it and adding some form of heating. Im pretty much downtown in a city nearing 100000 so I hope you will appreciate the effort the ladies made to "camoflage" the kennel.

Thanks kdr & Sam, I told him I would be worried about the wood soaking up and always having that "piss" smell, but it sounds like you guys dont really have that problem?!?!

Nait, what kennel??

Those wood walls have me thinking....I have a beagle in one pen next to the hounds and the neighbors are getting ticked cause in the mornings and evenings the cottontails have been coming out and eating on the lawn and it about drives that poor beagle nuts

The one door knob up the road has already called Johnny Law once about it and lucky for me this particular deputy was a dog owner/hunter and I was able to talk my way out of a ticket

I have been thinking about a couple different ways to block the beagles view of the back yard and maybe something along what you have there might be the ticket, plus I can have my wife "decorate" it up a little so the next time the law stops in for a visit I can just say "what dogs?? where??"

exactly why i went too the wood walls. if they cant see things going on around them they are very quiet. I had them in two chain link kennels previously and they usually raised hell every time someone walked past. they still have a view, but unless someone or thing actually enters the yard they remain quiet.

whats everybodies opinion on concrete floors. i have em, no problems with pads. some say not good. i have a good sealer (not thompsons) put on.-----------------To cover or not to cover.--------------ya i dont like to shovel snow but i also like to have the sun fight the bacteria, and the dogs like to lay out in the sun. i try to keep everthing cleaned up and washed down. ill try to get a pic of the auto dog watering system if anybodies interested.

Hey Nait that looks great. Could you possibly add a pic or two of the interior. Thats exactly what ive been trying to come up with. Looks great and keeps the ACO out.

i am from maine and well my kennel is in the making but will post pics tommorow, but for the building so you may know it is a twelve by twenty with kennel boxes along the twenty foot length and it has a lean to roof over a ten by twenty on the back with the sides are boarded in and well the floor under these runs are two by four with hemlock flooring as to keep dogs off the cold ground. the runs measure four by ten roughly and the kennels are accessible from each run and also inside for feeding purposes. this seems like alot but well was using what i had and made it into a very costly dog house but worth it if it is for animals which may bring me employment and enjoyment. i will post pics soon sorry i have none at this time.

Those hounds are called Gascon Saintongeois. I imported 2 pair last fall-see Liontrackers Gascon Saintogeois, and Mission Accomplished, and Africans' posts in the Gascon section.

How do you clean and disinfect under the floor?
