TOP CAT DOG

Post by pegleg »

Looking for recommendations for a stud dog . I am looking for a dog that can do it all of course :) no, if any one knows of a line bred dry "desert" ground male let me know about him. The dog has to be cat minded and full of desire a good cold nose and enough speed to catch a cat. you know the same ol' perfect dog. I guess thats just what it takes to be a stud dog in the first place. dog needs to be located in AZ,NM,WEST TEXAS, OR THE S.WEST PORTION OF UTAH. and available for stud!

A man is not very smart that can,t find his wife 2 jobs.
And any wife should be able to support her man and a pack of hounds.

Never shock your dog off bad game
untill he knows what good game is.

The game populations here aren't real good. there's pockets here and there but it mostly depends somewhat on water sources. Not traditional year round surface water but enough for vegetation/food for prey. the cats need food so wherever you find that you can usually get one going sooner or later. Their ranges seem much larger here then anywhere else I've hunted. same for mtn lion. Of course if numbers aren't what your after but a nice long scenic hunt this does seem to be the place. some of the canyons with streams or springs can seem to be full of game during the dry periods. I am having the same problem I run females mostly and don't have a male I feel is stud dog worthy.

I run alot of cats down here in Midland Tx. My best dog is a stud , but do it all in bobcat dogs he is not that. I would like to see a dog do it all down here. He will sart a cat when any of my other dogs cant smell it, until he gets it going good then the rest of my pack will get in and help him out. last night he started and cold trailed this cat for 35 min. until any other dog could do any thing with it, ran that cat for 2 hours and 45 min. and he put the slip on them bad. He is sackett junior bred treeing walker , we hunted every night for a week now and treed 2 bobcats one tues night and one sat night. It is real tuff hunting down here, these cats are mixed with cheetas and smart as a college professor, but I just found out that the last 2 dogs he has bred did not take, so some thing might be wrong with him or these cross country cats we have been chasing. you hunt bobcats? ever down this away get a hold of me and we will hunt.
