Mr. Dan,
Dad says that he feels sure you are deffinitly his kind of people! As we have said before you can tell how smart a man is by how much like you that man thinks; at the moment Dad has you right up there with Einstein, Mike Leonard, Big N Blue, just behind Barak and Hilary!
If it ain't too far out of the way will try to stop by and meet you on the way to WI the first wek of Nov.

ddb, do you guys hunt mostly at night. Out west it seems everyone hunts during the daylight. I tend to hunt cats from dusk till when ever. Never run into anyone cat hunting at night. And as for the statement you had made about the cat scent being behind you, way more than half of my rig strikes on cats are always in front of the truck. Maybe it has to do with our weather who knows.

Re: couple of rigging questions
Well in Arizona its illegal to hunt anything at night except coon (don't have coon at my elevation), so its not by choice that we hunt cats and fox in daylight
I think my dogs would do alot better at night because the scent would be fresher. They have treed a few in the orchard at night, its legal because the orchard is thier yard... so don't go calling the warden
I just try to get out there as early as I can to catch the scent before it burns off. Its likly just as well we can't hunt all night here or I would not get my rest

Catdog360,
Dad likes to say that he hunts in the mornings, he just leaves before dark to, be be there! We do hunt mostly at dark as where we are it tends to be the coolest part of the day, also Game tends to move more then in the places that we hunt. From just before dark to midnite we get 2/5 of our strikes, from 3:30 AM till 8:00 AM 2/5 with the balance caming inbetween!
Dan McDonough,
I am coming to SW WI to Deer Hunt with a friend. We will be there after the 4th until about the 14th, hoping to catch the rut just right!
Good Running to All!

Re: couple of rigging questions
That's what I tend to find in our cats. In the winter months I like to be in woods with the dogs up by 5-6 pm and seem to find most of the cats prior to 10 pm. then around 4 am till around 10 am. It must just be the nature of these beasts.
