[quote="waylon"]Doogie i am starting to think i need to learn to track cats my self, just got home its 14 degrees, zero wind fresh soft snow walked both dogs on top of fresh cat tracks on a new clearing a dozer made, no barks, no whines no nothing. took em through every rock out cropping draw dozer pile ?????? Hell i could tracked him down by sight if i had the time    Gotta get a dog with some nose? or Drive? or Somthing???

Hmm, to me it sounds like the scent was froze in the track. Just read "Meet Mr. Grizzly, by Montague Stevens" the problem your having sounds like the exact problem he had when hunting bear in the snow and freezing conditions. my .02. Good luck

Yeah and heck I know that the fog on my glasses froze into ice and they were at least looking. I probably expect to much from them neither one would clasify as cold nosed at all. but you gotta set your sights high :D dont ya. I thank the Good Lord that i am able to get out there and aleast hunt with a pair of hounds. I aint lying in a bed crippled or somthing. But i am gonna keep after them and i am looking for some dogs with nose so it will all come together at least if i screw these two up i aint out much
