What is the best way you guys have found to train a dog to rig for bear

Get him on a couple bear races so they know they're "fun" and then put them on the rig with another BROKE dog(s) that rig bears. When they 'go off' and if yours isnt, get out and coax him, get him wound up before you put them down. He'll pretty much figure it out right away if he will in fact rig.
"I bark when I smell a bear=I get to chase it"
They often get trashy after they learn to rig (mine did) so be careful putting down if he's alone and you dont have a visual on what he rigged
Fixing that takes a bit of work but is pretty easy.

Put 'em on the rig and let nature take its course. They have it or they don't. Gotta agree with whats been said. Putting them with another good rig dog makes it easy.
