Where I am, hunting any animal at night is illegal, so all of our hunting takes place in daylight, coons included. Coons are far and few between here, an we have to work our butts to get even the occasional coon up. Lots and lots of bears though

Re: Anyone hunt coon in the day time?
I treed three today in a hollow maple they were down inside so i started hiting the tree with a stick and they came out and went to the top, and no sooner did the one get to the top it bail and the fight was on . while in the meantime one of the other one jump from about fifteen feet and dam near on top of me and then the next one jumped . I haven't seen to many coons jump like that that from that far up. any way to get back to the daylight thing i like to hunt during the day cause i am a girl and i hunt by myself when my boyfriend is a work during the day, we also hunt a night you get to see who's doing what and how good of a cold trail dog do you really have . or will they take the right end. anyway happy huntin.

Hey, i do a little of both. I've get morning evening night. Just never know. Way easier to do in daylight cause I don't have to work all day then hunt all night. I have split days off so not to often 2 days in a row. I like to go afternoon till about midnight. Not always most productive but the kids are already up and we and the dog have fun.

I am gona try some day time coon hunting with my lion and bob cat dogs.
When i use to bird hunt I had a good britany and we were hunting around a frozen pond and he kept barking at a huge clump of tall grass after couple of minutes with nothing coming out I threw a big rock in the clump of grass with no results. The second rock scared out a good sized coon it was pretty cool.
by the way nice pictures

Re: Anyone hunt coon in the day time?
I used to not really like coon hunting because I HATE being out all night and the way I feel all the next day....basically ruined (kinda the same reason I haven't been fox hunting alot the last couple years, maybe I'm just getting old and tired). But then I got turned on to day time hunting and I actually really like coon hunting now. During the day you can see your dogs do pretty much everything, I really enjoy watching them work up last nights tracks. Plus you can actually take some pretty cool videos and photos.
