I was thinking the same thing but i didn't want to get in the middle but oh well here i am. Also i was wondering why if you knew an area that you could go and catch 3 times as many bears why your not hunting there. If i knew an area that had more bears i sure as shit would be there.

I catch bears here too dumb sh*t!

just not as easily or as many here as I do other places in the state. not saying that I'm as good as these "other hound hunters" that you mentioned, but I get out alot. if I would have spent the time that it took me to tree 7 bears down here this spring on other units in the state I could have treed 2 or three times as many . I haven't hunted bever mt all year until last week. caught one the first day up there, and my buddy caught one up there yesterday. If you would have pulled out your string and showed up you would know what I'm talking about. when was the last time you hunted cedar mountain and paguitch lake for bear? Dam your a moron! I wasn't going to say any more about this, but you just won't let it die.
frank, I know you have some top notch dogs and catch alot of bear. unlike this clown "catch" you actually post pics of game in a tree. something that he fails to do while he is beating his drum. I know you aren't scared to come down here next spring and do a comparison (idaho to utah) and let everybody know what you think. that will be better than catch coming anyway cuz he's so full of sh!t. as for julio, I know that he was a top knotch dog in new mexico, but has failed to get it done in my neck of the woods. I will never sell a dog that Is sub par, so if I decide to part with him he will go to his owner and then you guys can negotiate. I'm still holding hope for him that with all his bear hunting experiance it will click for him down here and he will be my lead dog. He'll get till november to figure it out.
I don't get it! First you wanted to bet me the farm I couldn't catch a bear "where you hunt". Then you wanted me to run lions with you so you could laugh me out of Washington county. Now you want me to post pics of bear. What is next, do you want to play a game of Bad Mitten?
I will tell you what guy. For every PM you post about a bad dog deal I have done, I will post a caught bear pic. (not hear say or second hand) I will start with one of those hard to catch Utah bear. It maybe faster for you to just say you made the dog deal thingy up!

that would make sense, but I don't have a problem when I go to the areas where there is a dense bear population and easy running. I know it sounds stupid as hell, but after you run here you will see what I mean. It's kinda like if you were trying to make lion dogs in central utah vs arizona or somewhere that has less lion and less roads, less access etc. it's not that the lions smell different, but you will catch more where the numbers and conditions are in your favor. ya dig???? from where I live the only semi close place to run bear is cedar mt. still and hour and a half just to get up there, but better than 3 hour drive to the boulder where the conditions are more favorable. or san juan, lasals etc at 6 or 7 hours. I'de love to hunt those areas and would probably have made a sweet pack of beardogs by now if I was there. lack of money and three kids I need to be here with makes cedar my only real choice most of the time. anyway, these dudes can talk all of the smack they want, but you don't see any of them loading up and headin down. from the beginning this has not been about weither a guy can catch a bear down here or not cuz there are some fellars with some good packs that do it all the time. my point was a good pack raised in favorable conditions with dense bear populations are gona look pathetic down here. I M O! especially a jack russel pit plott

ok i completely understand, but then what you need to understand is its not the dogs fault, because of bear densities and pressure where you hunt your success rate is going to be low, if you know that its all that matters! I started hunting consistantly in 1979 and hunted with alot of different houndmen, the first thing i learned is most houndmen think they have the only dogs in america that can catch game, you will never impress another houndmen and if you need that to validate your dogs then you better get out of this game! true houndsmen could give a crap less about posting pix, trying to validate their dogs or needing someone to tell them how hot their wife is!

I never said it was the dogs fault?? hell I'm sure I screw up more than the dogs do. I just said that just because a dog catches bears somewhere else does not mean he will catch game here. just like mine might not catch in their back yard. this whole thread has been pathetic mostly my fault and a couple others egging me on. we all look like dip sh*ts now. it's been entertaining. I guess I'm not a real houndsman piglet because I love posting pics of game I have treed. me and the dogs worked our asses off for the game and there's nothing wrong with braggin it up a little. the competition is what drives me, otherwise this would just be a hobby that I did once and a while for kix. I want to be the best no matter what I do in life and that's what keeps me in the hills 2-3 times a week year round. I still have a long way to go, but I won't settle for less. let's put this topic to bed and move on to something worth talking about.

Perhaps those of you following this fine example of houndsmen comraderie, can see why Oregon, Washington, California and other States have lost, and will continue to lose some of the hound hunting seasons and species. Who cares if someone wants to post pictures of his success? Who cares what color another man's dog is? You people sound like our infamous congress....and you will probably achieve the same thing: ill feelings and nothing gained.........

houndem my hat is off to you for putting in the hours and hunting your ass off! but hound hunting is not a competition sport and its really not fair to your hounds and everyone elses to try to make it that way, i understand you want to brag on those dogs because i bet they do damn good, but I bet those dogs could careless if you do a little bragging or post a pix just as long as you take them hunting! If all houndmen would put the hounds first this sport is great!

I guess posting pics seems to make a guy the real deal, so I'll post up some pics of a few bears that were caught on Cedar where they are so tough to catch.

I can't really take credit for this last one Catch's new strain of bear cats put this one up before anything else struck off the rig! that Catch could catch a bear with a donkey tied to a pig I tell ya!

All in all that country houndnem hunts was full of surprises last trip down.

If I was posting pictures to brag up or validate my dogs, I would be posting a hell of alot more pictures than I have, I have pleny more that hasnt been posted. I post pictures of my dogs and some of the bears they have caught so other people can enjoy them. I guess when you buy hunting magazines you dont enjoy seeing game that other people have got, huh? I guess I will never be a "True Houndsmen". LOL.
