Not because it is true, but because of the similarities between the French, Spitz and Bozo Walker bear dogs. You see they have one thing in common, the all lack guts. Guts it what it takes to make a bear dog, not color, size, speed or tree. It takes guts, guts, guts and some more guts. You have never seen it so you will never understand.
Take care guys, and good luck hunting.
Now that is some funny chit there.

I was hunting bear before you were born. My season is longer than yours ( oh I forgot I don't have a season)and I hunt Bear more hours than you hunt anything all year long.

And I agree you do have rocks in your head you.

You should do your homework before you start calling someone a beginer.
As for the Bozo dogs, You can say what you want about them because I know they catch me more bear than you will see in a life time. Don't be jealuos, You can't understand because you have never hunted with them. Your story made me laugh also not just because you think you know it all, it was because you are just a stupid kid

Sure is funny how some of these guys will argue and tell a government hunter how to hunt and what to use to get it done. Paco's dogs will see more game in a year than most anyone on this board's dogs will in there whole hunting career. I am extremely jealous and wish I had the job he does.

A government hunter! Wow, he must have the best of dogs. Hell he is even bring Bozo back. Not only is he a Government hunter he must be a magician also. Now there is no doubt his dogs see alot of game, but how long has he been a government hunter/magician? Lets look back not to far. I remember maybe a year or two he was selling every thing he owned to start a job for the government making around 12,000.00 a year. If my memory serves me correct, he lived in Utah and at that time and Utah didn't have much of a bear season. So lets talk straight on this on. In the past year maybe two his dogs have seen a lot of game. I'm telling you I have dogs that have seen more game then the government hunter has seen in his 40 plus years.
Now i'm not telling anyone what to hunt or how to hunt, that is not what hounds are about. Hounds are about what makes you happy and being in the outdoors.

No Mason because most people just plain are not honest with themselves ( Plott guys included ) in fact most people do not know what a top shelf dog is capable of whether or not it is for bear cat or coon.
Plus the fact they have to make up a good story from what they hear from the side of their right front quarter panel . Some thing that gives them a warm fuzzy and a reason to keep feeding there dogs .
There are people on here that do know what and have had a top shelf dog .And probably have a dog or 2 in their yard that is but the majority of people on here do not and just plain make excuses.

The BEST breed for hunting bear is without question is a Plott, the Best breed for CATCHING bear is whatever works for you in the area you hunt.
The reality is the ONLY thing wrong with plott's is PLOTT GUYS. I've heard about a lot of GREAT Plott dogs, just never seen one,but they are out there being hunted by true houndsmen, who don't have to blow their own horn, much like the better dogs in all breeds.
Best breed is a combination of what you prefer and what prduces results for you.Don't keep Em' cause they're cute.
