i hunt walkers to. the coons arent in the spot that i hunt very thick yet but we got some good pup training the other night and its all good. glad to see you are doing good on the coons. i caught around a 25lb boar coon this year too. it was the last coon that my good coon dog caught before i sold her so i think im going to have a rug done up. i mainly hunt cats but coons are good training tools for the young dogs, so i do it for them, and for me when i get bored. i wish i wouldnt have sold her but i guess thats that huh........ i wish you the best of luck this year and keep posting so we have something to read. it keeps me on here! keep em treed!

I do hunt all reg. blues at this point. I've leaned down to 5 and and will probably be at 3 by summer. I started with grade dogs and for a long time had good success with them. Since then I have had everything under the sun and it seemed if they were born with good tree skills, I'd teach 'em how to catch game. The thing to me about having a certain line of dogs is that their style was more or less a constant. In other words, I know what to look for and when as far as teaching them stuff. And the next generation does similar(hopefully). I have blue because that's what I have(everybody should be patriotic to their dogs or get different dogs).

I think I might have a litter in the spring. I am not a breeder, though, maybe have 1 litter a year on average.

Were I'm at I've heard of Hammer something or other, and the Jet line. The jet I heard is prety darn good.

I run Cameron dogs, but I outcross on hammer, Uchtman, and Smokey River with good success. I'm gonna try to upload a pic from a few years ago.

Another great day. Went for a boat hunt for the first time in a long time.
The first one they cought in a bamboo thicket. We usually hate when they do cuz the dogs just get sheraded and prety much every body did including us trying to help them get to it. We finaly made a hole to were we could see fur, that the coon ended up jumpin out at us of. He ran in to another thick patch of bamboo that the dogs couldn't work out.So we moved on.
The second coon is the one in the picture.He put up a good race. Me and my budy bulfyter's boy seen the the coon swimmin across a chanel in front of the dogs so fast that it look like he was doing a wheelley.
He got a perty good lead on them but after a lovely sounden race they cought it.

That looks like fun!! I have a friend that used to hunt the delta by boat. What a hoot. Good catch!
