I am pretty happy with my lightfoot pup. He's doing really well for his age. Hard headed, trying to tear yer arm off ,and can't teach basic obedience, Yakk just described my dog. LOL

So how is Grit doing this year? His litter mates that I kept are all doing awesome.

great brian, he's doing very well, he treed a 30# bobcat solo at the start of the year and probably been under about i think 5 or six lions we have had just piss poor conditions i don't remember the last time it snowed , And I have a tag. great year so far hope it snows. Tatum

I just got a lightfoot/swamp rooster four month old pup he's great so far very well mannered knows his place has a great nose and alot of drive at such a young age can't wait to get him out and start working him on some cats when he's old enough, would highly recomend one. Just my opinion.

He is 8 months old now. Handles like dream, never have to put a lead on him but if you do he won't take the slack out of it. Has ran and treed a couple bobcats and been on several coons. For his age he is doing awsome. Trying to make him a coon dog but he sure does like them cats. lol

I've hunted behind a half dozen lightfoot bred dogs and they were all EXCEPTIONAL. Don't even think about buying one if you're a weekend warrior, they need to be hunted hard and often. They caught game under unbelievable conditions and were very quick about it.

Couldnt have said it better! I've only got one but if you dont hunt them a LOT they will drive the average man crazy! Especially if you are a weekend warrior. Mine listens good in the kennel and knows when to shut up but when you go out to feed she wont shut up till she is fed, no matter how much you yell at her, and when you try to go in her kennel, even if she knows what get down is, she will still try to jump up on you and shakes her body uncontrollably with excitement. She's only a year and a half old but from what Ive seen/gathered these dogs are high strung! That'd being said Id love to own another! Like to try some Oney bred dogs too, and some Swamp Rooster

I have one that came from Jess Kincaid shes a cat crazy treein bitch can fly on a track and mean as hell on game,will bark 150 beats a minute on tree or when she thinks its time to go not bad for a little over a year, minds really well and really loves to please you and gets really excited when she is petted and praised when trailing or treeing. Im going to cross her on my goswick blood when she is a finished dog or maybe on another lightfoot,have to contact Jess to see what to cross her on.I have a deposit on one from Dustin meyers but waiting for a certain cross hope he will be as good as my little sandy dog,then maybe Ill raise some Arizona Lightfoot Hounds LOL I highly recommend the bloodline

Who were the parents to your pup luckylqh? Sounds like you described my dog to a "T" and it sounds like they are the same age. Mines from Jes and it sounds like they are the same age so Im guessing same cross/litter. Mine loves to be praised too and crazy chop on tree, super hyper and just crazy in general
