The changes that have been made to the 2010 season could have been alot worse! Knowing the guys that went in to the meeting and expressed their concerns (which was the concerns of the majority of the Houndsmen in Utah.) I think they did a heck of a good job! We are getting over ran by out of state houndsmen, The houndsmen in our own state, right along with the tree hugers.( Nothing against somebody coming to Utah from another state.) When the pursuit permit is the same price that is bull. I can't go to other states with my dogs with out drawing a limited entry pursuit tag. The only thing that matters here is that the areas that fall under the new limitations were straight out getting abused and needed some sort of control. Having a pack of hounds is something that we all care about and have a passion to succeed in! If we don't protect what we have it will be gone!!!!

Agree with every thing you said with the exception of the part about every unit getting abused. I can say without a doubt that the Bookcliffs unit was not getting abused during the summer persuit.. BLM had 0 complaints as far as campers, hikers, bunny huggers vs. houndoggers. That was the reasoning the DWR stated as a need for these changes. I work out there alot and there is nobody out there but oilfield workers(and the #s of them are going down) and houndsmen. And yes, you can bet this is only the beginning.....
