At the April 2009 commission meeting on SLO county there was only one anti from Los Padres Forest Watch and he mainly complained about the long trip to only have three minutes to speak during the public forum just like the rest of us. If anyone from the HSUS does show up let's not live up to the stereotype of the crude, rude, houndsman they portray us as. The damage was done in 2009 with a letter by some 40 anti groups and a high powered wildlife attorney. (see Full Cry Nov. 09). Intelligent arguments sound more intelligent without personal attacks. We seem to have the upper hand with these proposals so let's not blow it. See you there -Pete

One tidbit of info. if you look on the general forum in the link about the HSUS video, well it turns out that some of that photage belongs to Ike on the board and is Copywrited and being used ilegally by HSUS. I doubt they'll show the video tomorrow but if they do well there you have it. You have all heard that HSUS has said if CADFG passes the new proposals they will have an anti-hound hunting initiative on our ballot possibly as soon as this November...

The Anti's are going to go the ballot route no matter what happens. It was either PETA or HSUS that had said on the web-site last year that they plan on going after California Bear Hunting first then try to get every other State made illegal as well.
Thats one reason we need to unify as Houndsmen, and get behind the DFG, and work together to maintain our right to Hunt with Hounds as defined by the DFG regs as a Means of Take. The DFG needs to have the sole discression at managing wildlife.
