That's a good question when it comes to boots. I myself really want to buy a pair of American made boots, but I can't see how a pair of Whites or Nicks give you as good of grip on rocky, mountainous terrain. It doesn't LOOK like they would grip as well as a pair of Rocky's or Irish Setters. Am I wrong?

I use to be all about danners but october i bought a new pair of danner elk hunters with in two weeks the soles had totally seperated. In my mind they are nothing but junk. I will be purchasing a pair of kenetracs, soon. the are twice the boot. Just my experience.

I have a pair of White's Pac boots, the elk guide model. I really like these, well made and comfortable. Wear them all day. Also have two pair of their regular packer style boots and really like these as well. Jimmy

really like the danner super rain forest for spring summer and fall... but when it gets really nasty i go for my hoffman boots. they are made in Idaho and are built hell for stout. price very good and the loggers swear by them as well as the lineman.
