I am trying to figure out what kind of system to get. Sounds like there are pros and cons for both but looking at the money for a marshell collar and money for an astro, Where will I get the most for my buck?

Unfortunately you can't get the best of both worlds (from the Marshall and Astro) yet. I purchased the Astro right before this lion season and I do love it. Since I bought the Astro I have never had to get the beep-beep out. However I do try to staty right behind my hounds when I turn loose. The astro is so nice for where I hunt because you can see exactly what drainage the hounds and cat are heading for. Then you can make adjustments on your course and take a shortcut. My telemetry system is out of Marshall as well. I have found this to be the best beep-beep system out there. I do run both collars just for insurance.

If you ever had to leave your dogs out overnight you would probably be screwed with the Astro. However with the Astro I have found that you are less likely to have to leave your dogs out overnight. Just my opinion.
