Interesting topic you guys have going on here. Not trying to be pompous here But there seems to be a big difference in the type of topography you guys are hunting . I for one would choose NOT to have my dedicated bear hounds chasing YOTES . Lots of difference between Minn/ Wisc ground and those in VT ,N Hamp , Maine . Not much use for a sight hound up there in the northeast . For those in the NE that only hunt Yotes or would like to have dedicated yote hounds what would your choice of breed be ?

It's flat around me here in SE MN and would be perfect for sighthounds but I don't know anyone that runs them. We all run trail hounds

Here in northeast Pennsylvania we have running walkers, Plotts, blueticks and Black & Tans in our group. My personal preference are the Plotts.

too much timber here for sight hounds in northwestern wisconsin. i don't have any dogs that are fast enough to catch one consistantly. on a rare occasion i will catch one but they seem to run them good. with our poor snow conditions and deer herds, the coyotes run right down deer trenches and mess the dogs up every so often. best way for me is to run them and let them circle and shoot them in front of the dogs. they seem to be everywhere though.
