He ended up getting a new S&W 1911. Got the gun, amo, holster and some other accessories all brand new at Shipton's in Sheridan for $930.00. That is cheaper than what Cabela's has just the gun listed for on their site. Love Shipton's. I have bought the majority of my guns there.
