I would say, since you are from WI, you can't be more than ~2 hours from the nearest coyote pen. I would go (by yourself, I know its hard with a big gang, but sometimes you gotta ruffle some feathers and go by yourself) with your two pups. Turn 'em loose and see if they can get one going and how they act on it. I wouldn't recommend this if they haven't run one before but seems like they have been on quite a few. I'd say that is your best bet, especially this time of year, to see what you really have in your dogs.
Also, don't be afraid to turn 'em on cold tracks especially if they have run coyotes before. Hot tracks aren't the only thing to try; even try walking 'em on cold tracks in the winter, especially if it is a tough track cause then you might be the only guy willing to put in the work so your dogs will be the only ones on it
