Kevin, My buddy Grant ran this bear. They started this bear at 6:00pm with 4 dogs. The dogs were a walker male from John Evans and 2 dogs out of my Buster dog and a bluetick female. They were not able to get to the bear until 8:00am the next morning and all the dogs were still hammering on it. They shot the bear in a very big tree and last arrow, he hit it in the shoulder. The bear bailed out and they went and to get more arrows from town and I guess another houndsman dumped some of his dogs on it but it was all but dead by then. They never weighted the bear, but he was a dandy for sure.
Congrats to you guys, You made history for sure.
Thanks Kevin for posting

Yup I wish I had Luke back as a pup. He was a nice dog....you gotta admit though...he wasn't a pup trainer :D The thing I liked best about him was he was easy to leash up and head down the track.......he'd even keep up with me till we got treed
I hope you have as many good memories as I do with him. Still would like to hook up and go huntin sometime with you. Yes I have started turning work away to get back to what's important in life :D
Hope you are doing well and getting out some
