Chris,
You should have went and run that sucker. I'm sure you got a dog tied up over there that will trash on a bear. Have to be more fun than running a little old coon.

Chris,
Would have been better than anything we found today. Ran all the roads and put a few miles on the boot leather, but came up empty. Gonna be an early morning tomorrow.
Just a few scenery pics today:

Good day today. Put on a bunch of miles this morning and struck out on tracks. Late in the morning we got a call from another group that had aready killed one and had a second. Everyone hoofs it out of the woods and we head over there. Then it starts getting good. A bear kicked out by there running dogs rolls off the hill right in front of us and takes off across a big field. DTFB!! They fight him down the creek and one of the guys from the other bunch takes him on the ground. Good Deal. Then....A couple pups get off running a little trash and we are looking up against a big steep face and see a big bear role out from under a log and start up over the face. We beat feet, cut bear tracks and turn loose, about 2 in the afternoon. After all the dogs are gone we see there's definitly multiple bear. Tree them up, Sow and two yearlings. Sow comes out and whorps one of my brother's dogs and goes on. 2 dogs missing from there. The little guys are still in the tree and we take a few pics and gather up the dogs. Cut another track leaving that tree and turn loose. They tree him and my nephew takes that bear. Still 2 dogs gone. I try to go into them and they move out of my hollow and hearing. Gets dark and my brother goes into them. THey are treed on...you guessed it...turkeys. Oh well...hard to beat a day of bear hunting like that. And I'm tired. time for bed
One of the little guys, he's hard to see, no wider than the tree.
A friend from Ohio is in hunting with us and first bear hunt sees all this. Boy he might be disappointed tommorrow

It's been the best week i remember. Caught 10 counting the sow and yearlings. Well...killed the one on the run but he was caught and jumped a bunch. He wore me out. I was 50 ft away a few times and he would break out. One of our guys killed one for another group. The guy yelled at us on the radio asking for help; he was by himself. it was a nice bear. It's been a good one. I wish my gyp wasn't in heat. I don't think I'm gonna have to worry about that happening to me again.

Caught another Little guy today and let him go. The dogs split, and I think we had Mommy treed too, but we took the lazy route and rode the Rhino in and they came off the tree to us. Oh well. THey Smoked them off the mountain and treed up fast and hard. Dogs are doing amazing, young and old.

Didn't sound like anything i wanted to dance with. If he took 3 or 4 out on our dogs we would be out of business. My brother got a few dogs beat up and torn up pretty bad on fri. Down, at least, untill the weekend, One dog probably won't hunt till spring.

Where in WV do you guys hunt? I hunt deer in Dolly Sods alot. Took my first bear with dogs last week with my muzzleloader. I also killed one with my bow in 2005.
