killing all the lions wont help deer populations at all!!! Utah has proved that with there over killling of lions and the deer population continues to decline!!! if you as me utah and nevada have a huge coyote problem thats why fawn servival is down. a population cant grow if your young die; but what do i kno?

Good point bplott - on the coyotes doing the real damage. Same can be said for jackal here at home even with good leopard populations jackal do more damage. Average of 6 pups in a litter and bitches take a male in there first year - 50/50 ratio of young and you got a huge problem very quickly. They out predate leopard hands down.

They deplete most of there normal prey items and will to survive drives them to taking abnormal prey i.e. kudu heifers , sub adult cattle.The facts are here to see.

Game management needs open mindedness , people in the field who are observant and needs to be approached holistically.
