plottpapaw, i lived in clyde and maggie valley while i was going to haywood community college. i have seen you say you couldnt get a good plott after years of trying. i just wondered with ira jones living over by sylva and roy clark just cross the border in tennessee did you try any of their dogs?

i have hunted around both stocks of dogs. but you can't pass on to other hunters what you don't let out of your yard in fear of someone ruining your line

oh yea and on roy clarks stuff. i've seen what his boy hauls around and if i wanted dogs to chase each other around the 12 mile road i'd buy a greyhound. ira has extremely nice dogs by the way.

i knew von had a brother John, didn't know his name was also jonathan. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
i've heard so much nonsense about dogs in general & the cur breeds in particular, that i just get suspicious about any wolf claims. i'll have apologize for not believing you. I am sorry again.

Everything you said about Golie Ferguson & old Hack is spot on from what i've heard.

if you haven't yet, you should sit down w/ Rev. Jackson & share notes.

alot of what i have said has kinda come second handed from john jackson. up until i got out of the breed mr jackson wanted to share breeding tips and also do some breeding and was interested in some puppies out of mu stock. i really didn't have much luck but absolutely love the history. i hope i didn't seem brash or snooty. i have been very fortunate of the people i have gotten to meet and conversate with and some documentation i have seen. the wolf tree was hard for me to swallow too until i heard the story from a plott child. maybe we can share notes from time to time if you come up with something. been kinda fun hashing out the history nice to have hound guys still passionate bout a breed or hunting history in general
