I think they should have the legal right to do it, BUT I think it is in EXTREMELY poor taste to do so. It would be like someone building a bar on the exact spot where a drunk driver caused a bus accident.

I don't think the cival war had anything to do with religion. I'm pretty sure it centered around slavery, which mind you is a component of the islamic religion. Just saying.

So riddle me this, If we just start to kick out certain religous groups where does the line end. Picking and choosing is fine as long as you're the one chosen. I'd personally rather have freedom than the majority telling me what is OK to do. Here is the 1st amendment as it stands.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I completely agree that this nation was founded by Christain Ideals, but making everyone conform is a very slippery slope. Besides I'm not going to answer to my friends, family or US Gov when my time comes but the maker himself. I think most of us would do better by worrying about that relationship than most of the others. Just my opinion.

i agree, i don't think the civil war had anything to do with it either BUT idk if you know this but they have stated that slavery was NOT the main reason for the civial war... reason being.. IF that was the case then why did we have the civil rites movement? the real reason which is being taught now is cause it was mainly over "trade" aka MONEY.. lincoln actually WANTED to send allllllllllllllllllllllllll black people BACK to africa... and if the south would had one more than likely i would ben a slave.. cause if you were poor you were a slave as well. .alot of people don't know there history.. i have a bachelors in history............ but anywho............ true by law there 100% rite.. but by THE SAME LAW.. they can also say where they can put the mass. .they know that the muslims are PURPOSLY trying to put it there as a "haha" move.. but the thing is.. there are something like 30 other mass's in new york?<-- think thats what good morning america said .. so the point is WHY THERE?! why do they insist on that? why not down the street AWAY from the twin towers
