Tessa,
It would probably be better to show up with the whiskey and swap lies, huh?

I probably should take this over to the coffee shop! I was hunting with a guy year’s back he had one of those fancy rigging mat on the hood of his truck, nice set up typical bear rig, well we stopped and he got old Rebel from the dog box and put him a top the hood, now this is where I learned a bit about IQ. I don’t think we went down the road a mile when old Rebel backed up to the windshield, now I am no rocket scientist but when old rebel sphincter muscle was a flexing  I was thinking oh CHIT! Yes, you guessed it old Rebel laid a steaming duce right there on the windshield. This is where IQ really played an important roll in my days venture. I was thinking this will be a bit of a delay and we will have to use up a lot of our water to get the windshield clean, nope not with my hunting partner hell he never missed a beat, before I could say anything the wipers were just a going. Two things I learned that day. One buy high end dog food and two always keep your wiper reservoir full. You have to love them chitters, if nothing else they make for a good story.

Anybody who throws J.J. Henniman and his kennel name under the bus is a real asshole. And it's Minnisink... idiot. He's a better houndsman and breeder than you could ever hope to be Mr. Leonard. Your bff Jimbo is an idiot, too.
If you've never cleaned poop out of your dog box, you aren't much of a houndsman. It ain't fun, but chit happens.

in defense of mr leonard i think minitsink instead of minnisink might have been a typo, something that happens quite often in his post and something were all guilty of at one time or another..i saw nowhere in the post where he threw the mans name or kennel "under the bus" and if you were refering to the way he described the dog, well cobalt bad dogs come from even the best names.
some of you "men" on here sure act like middle schools girls and try and cause bullshit over nothing..it's a shame really

back to the topic i can honestly say i've never had a problem with a dog shittin in the box, whether it was mine or someone else's..but i dont feed before we hunt..could that be the reason or does it just depend on the dog?
hank taught me just how to stay alive, you'll never catch out the house without my 9 or .45. i got a big orange tractor and a diesel truck and my idea of heavens chasin whitetail bucks...

Good grief some of you have more drama than a high school pep squad! It’s funny how a person reads something on here and draws a completely different conclusion than most everyone else. But thanks for clearing it up as I am a bit slow. I don’t care what brand of hound any of you hunt there are mental midgets in every color and from every kennel. At least this topic is properly named. Life’s to short to have a bunch of dog box shitters. It’s all what you’re willing to put up with and that’s something I’m not going to deal with very long there are to many good clean dogs out there to have to deal with that.

rigit-
Take a week and only feed the dog in the dog box... Clear it to bare floor and just toss the food in on the floor rather than in a bowl and they usually won't want to use it as a toilet anymore.. I've also had success putting the box on the ground and tying the dog near it so he had to use the dog box as his dog house for about 10 days... He never dumped in the box again. Hope that helps.

When it comes to crap and dog boxes, I will give you all some advise to save you some grief. Years ago I stopped by the house of a friend of mine and he has just bought some hogs. He had a couple of extras so I worked out a deal for me to take one home and feed out. It made a lot of sense to load him into one side of the dog box. Between the two of us (maybe there was a third there also) we got him squeezed in there head first. It was tight and no way he could turn around. It was about a 1.5 hour drive home. I backed up to the pen I had and figured he would back out. I learned several things.
Pigs (or at least that one) don't like to back up into the unknown.
Pigs crap a lot in an hour and a half of windy roads, maybe a little extra when they aren't used to small boxes or transport.
Pigs go into small openings better nose first than they come out butt first
Pigs don't have any good hand holds on their back half, what they do have are much good when coated in crap.
The shape of a pigs butt just isn't right to come out the door of a dog box.
Several guys can handle a pig to get him in, but there is only room for one to get him out.
You are the only one who cares if that pig gets out of your dog box, everyone else is willing to just let live in there.

I finally got him out of there and it wasn't pretty. And I won't try that twice.
