Homeland security starts with the people through their votes.
Homeland security is just another name for more funding and the mix created a top heavy organiztion that still has no idea what the other hand is doing, just beefed up the infighting.
That's 30 years of watching and working in that mess.
It should have improved thru the years, but it hasn't.
The number of agents is 10 fold what it was when I came in, in 1980 and the problem has grown 20 fold...that should tell someone, somewhere that it's not working..
If it was a private business, do you think it would have been able to continue, No.
But being funded by taxpayers dollars ...they are not worried about fixing the problem. Just another day and another another pay check.

This show is great, and thank them for protecting the US

I don't want the reply I made to sound like I don't respect the agents.
The men and women of the Border Patrol are tasked with having to learn not only constitutional law, but the ever changing immigration laws.
The laws change at the whim of congess through the influence of the big business's hiring the illegals.
They not only have to be fluent spanish but the other languages prominent in their areas like on the French Canadian border for example.
They assist all state, county, local and federal agencies in whose jurisdiction they operate, while being one of the lowest paying federal agencies.
They are the first to see cuts in their budget and the first to be publicly flogged in the media. The problems they face are enormous while they are supervised by those knowing little or nothing of what their jobs consist of.
This is from another opinionated individual who probably shouldn't mix with polite society.
