I know some guys that live alot closer than me that have really good fast dogs. By light in the ass, all I meant is that he didnt have the "courage and power" to be an effective coyote killer. He was intense though and very nice well balanced dog. I think if Red could have got bred to a straight coyote dog type bitch that them pups would be gettin much closer to the coyote game but for what yall do, I think yall made the perfect breeding. Most of these coyote dogs dont have that lurcher mentality and in my opinion are not the best for it. I know some use them as such and I even have a female that I used that way some but in reality the best of the best just aint gonna make lurchers.


As far as you worrying what you would have to trade off to see some coyote dogs go, dont be silly. The guys out there that are good to go dont ask nothin from nobody. Hell they give some of the best bred coyote dog pups away every year and they sell good honest dogs for little to nothin. It aint about money to them.

Hey Dan, its been a while!

I have been busy starting a couple businesses with my wife. Things are going good and just getting better, hopefully within a few years I can semi-retire (she LOVES business?) and work my dogs and hawks more.

I have a new eyas tiercel prairie falcon, I hope he's not too light in the ass for mallards.

I also have some male puppies out of a bitch I got from Goran, out of tested imported dogs. Mama dog is very hard, and since her hunting hiatus with the puppies and all, she spends a big part of each day digging in the puppy kennel with her teeth, and has caught 3 moles out of had clay ground, and her puppies are 5 weeks old

The lurcher dog is doing good and we are encouraging him to point on birds now. My old female jagd is retrieving starlings out of the ditch and back into the truck (I shoot them for hawk food). Went to run the three adults jagds I have last weekend but they caught two baby quail, so they are going to be up for a couple weeks, until I get another call about problem coons.

looking for a place to hunt? Get on craigslist, farm and garden, and post an ad that you are looking to help local farmers with coon, possum, or whatever you've got around to hunt. I've gotten some good spots this way.
