I was feeding my dogs the cheap Ranchers Choice crap at 26% protien and it was crap. Dogs looked like crap they ate all the time. I switched to the Diamond High Energy and they love it, look better. Yes it cost more but I dont feed as much.

Hope it works for you.

I use the diamond naturals chicken and rice in the off season and their chicken and rice High Endurance when were hunting. I really like the ingredients in the Canidae brands of food, but they are a bit to expensive for me and the diamond natural high endurance is pretty close to the Canidae. It can be a bit to hot with 32% protein at times. I just cut it with some brown rice and bacon grease or whatever I have at the time to bring the ratio of protein down a bit.

I think your talking about the extremem athlete with 32% protein. But then again i could be wrong because when i looked at the bag in the feed store yesterday i could sware that it was 35% protein 25% fat. I am going to try that out when i get to running a lot.

The Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete is worth every cent. I have been feeding it for almost a year straight, and it's the best food I've fed. I can feed most of my dogs two 8oz. cups a day and they stay FIT.

It is a free country-- I tried that stuff and it was a very poor quality-- dogs went down hill fast and almost quit eating it- the fellow where I got it lost a lot of his customers over it.

Isn't Diamond the same company that makes the "Taste of the Wild" stuff? If so, they also produce an almost identical variety to TotW's Salmon food, but at about $20 less for a 35lb bag.

I'm feeding Diamond High-Energy and my dogs get fat on 2 cups (8oz cups) a day in the off season, but i have to feed them between 3 1/2 and 5 cups during bear season and I hunt pretty hard (4-6 times a week). The dogs coats all look real good, sleak and shinny! I guess some dogs do good on it and some don't.
