Resident cougar tag in Oregon is $14.50 one more good reason used to exploit the passage of H.B. 3636 into law, This is the funding for predator removal, sport hunters being asked to donate money to fund predator removals. Look at the bill and you will see cougar and bear are included. Tricky wording allows provisions to classify big game mammals as a predator once it has crossed the line doing either stock, crop or related damage.
Legislators in Oregon are led to believe only those animals that have crossed the line are being pursued by State and Federal employees that are now being funded by sport hunter dollars. Montana is learning from Oregon, Washington how to secure the future and dollars for all government employees. ODFW will use donated dollars to fund the cougar reduction, Government hunters-contractors using hounds and the payments to USDA while sticking it to sport hunters...
