We mostly run coyotes and they make a CD for catching hounds that is a actual recording of hounds running I've always said it would make a great aid in discouraging wolves in comming in to a tree or a race once they see they're buddies getting shot they won't come in anymore. Just like coyotes and fox, miss them once calling them in, they won't come in again! Just my thoughts maybe you guys in canada or alaska could try it I would send one to you to try.

WOLVES

Post by liontracker »

Ray you need to temper your enthusiasm. Their is absolutely NO place in the lower 48, outside of Yellowstone for wolves. The only reason they should even remotely be considered there is because man can't hunt in there. However a far better solution in the park would be bowhunting only.
I want everyone to pay extra close attention to this wolf issue. Mark my words " WITH WOLVES IN THE WILD- WHY DO WE NEED HUNTERS " ? I mean really guys and gals, take a look at the big picture here.... Gun control, Wolf reintroduction,Locked gates on public land, prime lion hunting areas closed to access during lion season only,Lion hunting outlawed in liberal states, Trapping banned in liberal states,Anti-hunting groups sueing state game and fish agencies in an attempt to ban hunting ....Hunters can bullshit their friends, but lets not bullshit each other ! Think about it ... if no hunting then no guns ... then what ? Do you hunters out there think it is time to end this anti-hunting - anti-gun movement once and for all ? I say NO WOLVES IN THE LOWER 48 PERIOD !!!!!

Could not agree with you more Tim. The last thing I want to see is FWP cut back on the hound season and extend the trapping season so wolves can be controlled better.

We are currently going through our tentative sessions here in montana. The trappers do not want to even be included for a few years so as to keep there heritage and priviledges below the radar, understandably so.

It has always been my belief that introduction of wolves is nothing more then a liberal move to eliminate man as the ultimate predator and let mother nature take its coarse. Unfortunately for mother nature complete extermination of all game animals that are preyed on by the wolves is not the correct biological answer.

I voted. Liontracker is right. I live in Idaho near Yellowstone, and there is already talk about "save the wolves and grizzlies, stop hunters from killing their food". Trust me, they do not stay in the Park. Four grizz attacks on archers and hikers last summer and fall in our area.

i made the decision a long time ago that if we go the way of the brits, i'll just do what they do, keep on doing it w/ the understanding i have to watch out for the law. i might at that point be inclined to start capping those who use the law to create tyranny (like everyone associated w/ PETA). right now we're in that fuzzy grey area, it's too late to have faith the system will work & it's too early to shoot the pricks.

http://www.ashlandwi.com Here is the link to cast your vote again. It has been letting me cast a vote once a day. I would sure like to see Wisconsin get a season, then maybe here in Minnesota we will have a chance of getting a season. The State acknowledges that we have between 3500-4000 of these damn things with 3/4 of them in the Northern half of the state.
