I am in pretty good shape for a skinny guy, I was in the army from 04-08 spent 4 1/2 years in. cardio wise I was and am still in great shape. not as good as when i was in the army. I ran a 12 minute 2 mile at my best. Now i know im not close to that but I hunt some terrible nasty country in Morgan county UT. IF its not hounds its something else so there is not much time that i dont spend out there. now you wanna talk upper body, well im just a skinny aircraft mechanic you do the math!

My hounds are in better shape than me most of the time. Last year got some real bad blood tests back, took me a couple months to get going. Once I got going I dropped 75lbs in 9 months. Never been a fast hiker, but I most of the time I can make a very long day of it.

I am in a shape but wouldn't call it a good shape. If the hounds stay at the tree long enough I will get there though, and it don't matter how far or how rugged. This is why I prefer to hunt alone I can hunt at my own pace. This is one of the reasons I bought a 4 wheeler. 2 pack a day cigarette habit and 50# over weight. So yea the hound is in far better shape than me.
