Here in Vermont you can legally sell them also.At least thats what the fish and game book says. I believe Vermont,Maine and Idaho are the only 3 states you can legally sell them. I don't bother with them. I wouldn't even no anybody in this state that would buy them.

Its funny you mentioned Wild Justice, watched it for the first time last night, what a bunch of arse holes or "Lone Rangers" as the one guy put it lmfao, that show makes every hunter/houndsmen seem to be some sort of uneducated redneck poacher, no wonder why the vast majority of today's society doesn't understand where we are coming from. That being said, i must say you guys have some pretty country and I would love to burn a bear around those hills one day!

There hasn't been much of any market for them the last couple of years here, but you used to be able to get enough for a tank of gas (before gas got so expensive) we can sell the bear hides here and last year I gave the gall to the hide buyer without getting any more money than if I had just sold him the hide.
Years ago I knew some guys in Washington that sold pig galls as bear galls (I'm sure they sold bear galls also, but the majority of the "bear" galls they sold came out of barnyard oinkers). One of them even got busted and got out of it by proving it was a pig gall he was selling. I guess its not illegal to lie and say your selling bear galls. They were getting $40-50 a gall, that just doesn't seem worth the risk and hassle to me.

Back in 1987, galls were selling for $300 each. Many of them were injected with human piss to make them larger. The Korean that was buying them was geting $5000 each in Korea and each one would bring in revenue of $10,000.
I never trafficed in galls but this guy was a walking, flagrant, egotistical ass that didn't care about getting caught, because he was making so damed much money; The fine meant nothing to him. He told me he was buying about 50 galls a week from Los Angeles to Shasta. It was so lucrative, that guys were out listening for dogs running and they would hurry to get their before you did, to get the galls. They would even turn one of their dogs into your race so they could say they started the track. I couldn't take it anymore and moved to Oregon to get away from it all. No offense guys in California, but hunting ain't like it used to be. The younger generation is setting new rules.

Buckles,

You got that right, and us younger guys aren't going to let the greed of a few bad apples further ruin hound hunting opportunity in this state.
I have no idea what percentage of bear hunters were participating in the gall bladder trade and other types of illegal take in the 80's, but it was perceived to be large enough to drastically harm the reputation of the hound hunting community with the Department of Fish and Game, end the training season, and establish the dog control zones.
Twenty-seven years later, not only are we trying to undo the damage that was done in the past, but we're also working to protect against further attempts to curb or eliminate hound hunting...and the last thing we will tolerate is any individual within our ranks that behaves in such a way that it adds credibility or legitimacy to the propaganda used by the anti's.

HEY GUYS DON'T YOU THINK THAT EACH STATE SHOULD HAVE EACH PERSON THAT KILLS A BEAR(DOG.BOW,GUN,CAR,ETC)TURN IT IN TO DEPT OF GAME SO THEY CAN BE SOLD TO HIGHES BIDDER AND THE MONEY GO TO HELPING THE BEARS. ANYTHING THAT WE COULD DO TO MAKE MORE BEARS WOULD BE GREAT AND WE ARE WASTING HOW
MUCH AT A AVERAGE $350/$400 A BEAR. THINK ABOUT IT STATES THAT JUST TAKE 200
BEARS A YEAR WOULD BE 70 TO 80 THOUSAND. AT TEN YEARS IT'S ALMOST A MILLION DOLLARS XTRA PUT INTO OUR BEAR HUNTING
