I feed Purina Pro Plan
They have a Breeders program. I feed 7 bags of 37.5 lbs a week (one bag a day) Per bag its $30, but because we joined the PetsMart Club they knock of $5 per bag so that comes to $25 a bag. Then for being a member of the Purina Pro Plans Breeders Club we save the weight seals, more or less that get us another $7 off a bag, so that bring the cost per bag to $18 plus tax.

dog food
I buy Diamond Premium (24/20) 50 lb. bags for $18.50 plus tax. Been feeding it for 3 or 4 years and the dogs love it. A 55 lb. dog will do well on 2 1/2 measured cups per day if it is in good health and FREE OF WORMS. Of course, if you are hunting hard in the winter time it will take more.

Re: dog food
i onceibear dogger wrote:Just wondering what anyone feeds for dog food out there. I have been feeding Ole Roy from Wal-mart and suplementing with ground flaxseed. The price just jumped four dollars a bag. Does any one know of a good suplement program that could be fed with a cheaper feed? Does anyone make ther own dog food? Thanks for any info.
i once fed ol roy an its ok but beardogs put it all on the line for ya each time loosted too run catch fight-n-bay up/ an tree -up . They also log a lot of hunten country and conditions of emotional distress in their line of work/they have the need too give nothen but try in em just too finish ! alos if they got too rest up an then come back from a long knockdowndragg-out they got too suck-it-up and get back too the turnloose spot . its hard enoughf too find a natural born beardog and his feed an your care for him is awhole lot of what he is and shows inthe woods ! A man that don`t giver his biggame dogs the best dog feed is not much in my book ? Affording too keep a dog the right way is as much value as is for that hunter too make the tree or the bay-up his dogs worked for too get/it could cost em their life and for what cause if the handler an feeder dont pay but half attention too the dog ! id use prohound dog feed an giver that dog a pork shoulder bone with fat-n-grissel an a little meat on it too (i every other week) also I`d give him some raw strip of room temp meat too pull on and fang and chew up befor I hunt him/uya want a dog too know how too fanf a bear and too wanttoo feel it (his teeth too pop in and snagg that bear who needs a little help too go up a tree.were not talken varmitt runnen dogs that get popcorn shucks spred-out alog the dirt rd as ya road em/ those dogs take table scraps an fillers for un the woods hrs as additives too help ther indurance .a bag of popcorn shucks is cheap enoughf as added filler /but it will take the dog down too over time .
