I will not give a number, but before wolves got thick 50 plus lions a years was not that tough, if you hunted every weekend and too a lttle time off work. Treeing three to five lions a day (all separate races) was not rare. This of course was before all of the homework we have to do now just to throw a dog down. Catching lions here is so easy a caveman can do it. Don't misunderstand me, I in no way consider myself a hardcore lion hunter. We just have good snow and lots of cats plus a long season. Makes training pups very enjoyable. A guy could get a pup under 30 or 40 trees his first season.

46 lions was my best year, back in the mid 1990's. Things have changed since then from overharvest of cats, wolves, and of course work. Snow conditions have also been fairly poor around here the past few years. For several years the cat hunting was good. The past few years I have been catching 15 to 20 lions each season. Very few days did I catch doubles, but did have a triple once (not a female with kittens).

I wish I could vote in this one...we just don't catch many lions around Kingman, AZ...I'm sure I'd catch more if I could devote the time needed to it. Then again, this is more of a hobby for me...a way to blow my money...
Hey houndnem...I wish my dogs trashed more on deer instead of these stupid javelina. I swear I have some of the best javelina-chasing hounds in my area...They're starting to get the scars to show it. Every once in a while they even manage to trash on a lion and catch it...LOL!
