Bad deal for sure.
That black dog was I beleive out of Black Jack and Belle. Bud Hutchings bred black and tan beardogs.

BKMFR,
I went to michigan twice and hunted with Marv,Jeff once cat once bear hunting . had two excellent weeks really enjoyed their company we cought game both weeks. Marv was quite a cat hunter he didn't really care for bear hunting till jeff got the bug . I was certainly saddened when i got the news about their accident as far as i know itwas never actually figured out what happened to them just one those terrible accident on the river.

I'll be darn....that's really neet that you got to come over here for a hunt and rub shoulders with some of the good old timers. Pretty neet how those guys kept in touch without the internet. Those boys didn't need a reality show "I lead a double life on the internet."
As for Marv, probably one went in first and the other tried to help. No one will ever know but, I only hope I'll be so lucky to go doing what I loved. I didn't know Marv was primarily a cat hunter as I had only known him as a bear hunter. My mother is a Grover and she says we were related and I have always wanter to find out how......that's a project I will get to some day.
