I have an Original Mountain Cur at the house right now. 6 months old. Lots and lots of "hunt" in him. Talk about a hardheaded little $hit! He's sharp as a tack, learns what he wants to really quick, but getting him to do something that wasn't his idea.. Good luck..

"Training" him to hunt will be no problem.. He's one gamey little SOB- I've never had so many dead squirrels or moles. And he's using his nose to get them. He put a spot and stalk on a bird successfully the other day LOL- He goes out of the house looking for something to catch. Starting to tree right now also..

We aren't trained up enough yet to be a well mannered house dog- He's a typhoon But he is getting better with age.

But yes David, what you said is what I'm thinking of when I'm talking easiest to train.
